Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12 1988, is a Canadian singer/actress from Canada. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to be the winner of Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in 2005. O'Neil is most well-known as an actress due to her role in the series Syfy as Two as Two Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin, and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie. She was placed as a bottom three contestant and two contestants were eliminated. The judges were stunned by this and urged viewers to choose Melissa for her singing talents. O'Neil was highly praised for her performance and never fell back to the third place. Zack Werner declared that O'Neil was "a threat" to win the whole contest. O'Neil and Rex Goudie both made it to the second round of the contest on September 7 in 2005. After another impressive performance, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away Long live Queen". O'Neil defeated Goudie at the grand finale results showon September 14 in 2005. She also was crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
