
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is the captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also the co-captain of the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. In the months following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. In the team, she made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan aged 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists during the same calendar year , making her the sixth and the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
